“Debian is the Universal Operating System of the users, by the users, for the users.”
— Anonymous
DebConf is the annual Debian conference which is held in a different country every year. DebConf15 will be held in Heidelberg, Germany in August 2015.
MiniDebConfs are local meetings organized by Debian project members to achieve similar objectives to those of the DebConf, but on a regional context.
Hardware Freedom Day (HFD) is a worldwide celebration of Open Hardware. Initiated in 2012 by the same organization behind Software Freedom Day, it aims at educating the worldwide public about the benefits of using and promoting Open Hardware.
Why Attend ?
A mini-DebConf is an awesome opportunity for any user who wants to experience the magic of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Here you can meet the veterans in FOSS development, develop professional connections which will help you in future, chat with contributors who can guide you, present in front of a grand audience and most importantly, grasp the essence of FOSS development. It is indeed a ‘never miss’ opportunity that will give you a strong foundation to build on!

Suburban Railway Transport:
From CST Station/Dadar:
Take a slow train on the Central line to Thane/Kalyan/Karjat. Get down at Vikhroli or Kanjurmarg station. Take an auto to IIT, Powai (fare up to Rs 30). Enter the campus from the Market gate (the first gate you come across).
From Mumbai Central/Church-gate:
Take a fast or slow train on the Western line to Andheri/Borivali/Virar. Get down at Andheri Station and come towards the East side of the station. Take bus or auto (fare up to Rs 200) or taxi (fare up to Rs 350) to IIT, Powai . Enter the campus from the Main gate (the first gate you come across).
